3 Magi.
But the idea behind 3 Magi was never simply to take three ancient ingredients, put them in a jar and tell an old story.
We wanted to understand the ingredients themselves.
Why had people valued them for generation after generation?
What made Frankincense, Myrrh and Cinnamon Bark so distinctive?
And how could we bring those old-world botanicals into products that people would actually enjoy using today?
That journey eventually led to our 3 Magi Premier Salve — and from there, an entire 3 Magi collection.
It Started With the Salve
The heart of the collection is still our 3 Magi Premier Salve.
We didn't want it to feel like a thin oil that disappears the moment it touches your skin.
Instead, we built the formula around a rich carrier base designed for slow, deliberate application and massage.
Organic Olive Oil provides the foundation.
Beeswax gives the salve body and staying power.
Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and Avocado Oil add richness while helping leave the skin feeling conditioned and moisturized.
And then come the three botanicals that give 3 Magi its identity:
Boswellia serrata Frankincense.
Commiphora myrrha.
Cinnamomum zeylanicum Cinnamon Bark.
Warm a small amount of the salve between your fingers and work it gradually into the desired area. The oil-and-wax base gives you time to massage it in rather than having the product vanish immediately.
That's intentional.

Why Frankincense?
“Frankincense” isn't one single material.
Different species of Boswellia can produce frankincense, and we specifically selected Boswellia serrata for 3 Magi.
Frankincense has a deep, resinous aroma — earthy, warm and unmistakably old-world.
Modern analytical tools such as GC/MS testing also allow suppliers and formulators to identify many of the naturally occurring aromatic compounds found within essential oils.
That gives us something our ancestors didn't have:
The ability to appreciate both the long history of an ingredient and the chemistry behind its distinctive character.
We don't need to exaggerate what Frankincense is to appreciate it.
Its history is remarkable enough.
Why Myrrh?
Myrrh might be even more mysterious.
It comes from the resin of trees in the Commiphora genus and has been valued for centuries in aromatic and traditional preparations.
Our 3 Magi formulation uses Commiphora myrrha essential oil, steam-distilled from the resin.
Its aroma is deeper than Frankincense — resinous, earthy and almost smoky.
Combine the two and you get a scent profile unlike the sweet fragrances found in many modern personal-care products.
It smells old.
In the best possible way.
It smells like something with a story.
And Then Came Cinnamon Bark
Cinnamon Bark changes the entire blend.
Our Cinnamon Bark essential oil comes from Cinnamomum zeylanicum.
Where Frankincense is resinous and Myrrh is deep and earthy, Cinnamon Bark brings warmth and spice.
It gives the 3 Magi aroma its unmistakable finish.
And no — we didn't add Cinnamon Bark simply because three ingredients sounded better than two.
It belongs there.
The three botanicals work together aromatically to create something very different from a typical lotion, salve or soap fragrance.
